The "drag pipe " from Rich/Highway Hawk today and took about 10 minutes to install, including removing the SuperTrapp and head pipe*. It does seem louder at idle but cruise seems about the same as the ST with 4 discs. It was dark out when I got done so the test drive was short. It definitely makes the single thump come through as the head pipe is full size, not a pipe with smaller pipe inside . Jetting for mine seems OK, but it was OK with the SuperTrapp and famous nylon spacer in place. The low speed yet in mine was replaced by the dealer when I bought the bike used. It had been worked on and a mis numbered (too large) low speed jet was in that fouled the plug in about 100 miles. That's when I learned how pull the tank and carb w/o benefit of a shop manual.

* I cheated I have a a western cycle hoist and getting it up in the air 30" really helps. Also I have spent alot of time on my back before trying to get the orginal one air tight(leak proof) to try and stop the farting and popping so I know what tools I needed. Also had new head pipe gasket on hand, and have a good supply of metric fasterners, washers, and many years collection of bits and pieces. Had to use a spacer and 50mm long bolt instead of their supplied 15mm one to connect the pipe to the muffler support. I'll let everyone know in a couple days how the jetting is and what the reaction of the noise police is. I neve got a look with the ST and even the HD's around here run baffles or some kind of muffler. In Anchorage, most of AK, straight pipes on HD are SOP. Later, Max
